Phoney Klans men!
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/world/us...da/10157270.stm
Have a read and let's know what ya think! I'm not sure, I can see the point in that it was in poor taste, but then can you or should you bury that past and ignore it ? Or is it just still to close to the bone, and let some more time elapse before we explore all this ? What's your take ?

Re: Phoney Klans men!
It's not like they were racially motivated to do that, I mean people still dress as Nazi's for parties and stuff like that, no big deal real as far as I'm concerned.

Re: Phoney Klans men!
I can fully understand complaining about seeing someone in a clan outfit walking through the school cafeteria since the parents didn't know about the class project. However; once the project was explained to the parents - that the kids were "in costume" - the matter should have been dropped. As far as I'm concerned, the only possible lapse in judgment on the teacher's part was in allowing the students to wear the costume outside of class. To ignore the clan's roll in the issue of racism would be a far greater problem. Those who do not study history are bound to repeat it...

Re: Phoney Klans men!
Kitz I think it will always be to close to the bone. The talk and or reenactment of racism will always have a emotional response for the people who lived it, still live it, have been threw it or even witnessed it happen or still have fear of it. For me you have to look at it with open eyes and have a sense reality about it, it happened, it's still out there, and in parts of the world it still is ongoing. Personally I really don't care what color your skin is it's who you are that matters to me, do you walk what you talk. As to the response to the teacher I think it was all feed from fear, like MrsMo said once this was all explained it should have been an open and shut case and dropped but it won't be people will push this to the limit she will lucky if she can still teach after this and that's just sad :-(
