I really do think this is just one step too far,
http://www.brandrepublic.com/bulletins/br/article/491097/wh-smith-slammed-selling-playboy-stationery-schoolgirls/

I heard a report on the radio about this, the product is being mostly bought by parent's for their children, young girl's sporting a crappy Nike logo is one thing , Playboy is just a bit to much for me..

Is this just a subliminal message to young girls that it's cool to strip for men, it's "normall" and "expected" ?

What next , is what worries me ...
And we wonder about rape and the abuse of children.......

This is fucked ....

This is definitely fucked.

Making the claim that "they don't know what it means" is useless -- a child may not know what it means, but that will last for about 10 minutes. Then their friends will be sure to put the bug in their ears. Little boys will be sure to comment and make assumptions about the little girl carrying such a thing. I have nothing against playboy for adults (or even adolescent boys, truth be told) but it does NOT have a place in school.

Phew! i am not on my own here...
I love Playboy :-)

But i do think this just add's to the pressure that girl's are facing to have sex earlier and earlier to the point where it's just really not on...
Also it don't make the lot of a boy any easier, he just think's i should be doin this too, the message is "hey we're kid's let's have sex" !

It's all nice and subtle but it's there lurking in the background, and the really annoying thing for me is , it's just corporate greed, sell, sell, sell, fuck the consequenses...some asshole in a suit thought this up.....

"oh some kid got raped, notin to do with us", really ?????
It's border line sick....

You don't think that's at all naive?

I knew what playboy was when I was a little girl, and that was a long time ago. Kids today are even more aware and I have no doubt that youngsters know exactly what playboy is.

I don't have a problem with playboy being marketed to adults, but this is pushing a sexual message on kids much too young to handle the implications.

This sort of ties into the sex vs. violence debate.

I doubt anyone would be bothered if a young girl was wearing a t-shirt with the Winchester, Budweiser, Marilyn Manson, or Marine Corps logos. All of which have "implications" which might be difficult for a young person to fully understand.
