We've had similar threads in the past, but Kitz's shout out this morning made me wonder what a "good fry up" is. I'm thinking it's eggs and bacon, but I could be wrong.

Your quite correct MrsMo. A good fri up is indeed bacon, eggs and anything else you have handy that you can stick on a frying pan!
A breakfast that you could consider to be a good fry up is a "Full Irish Breakfast"

Nuts I'm hungry just looking at that pick !
Yummie, but a quick way to a heart attack.

Yes, Yes that is what I had, eggs, bacon, sausage, green peppers fresh out of the garden, mushrooms, two sides of toast with grape jelly, two cups of coffee, and a glass of milk, and the hangover was over, dammit I made myself hungry again : )

Eggs. Scrambled, over easy, poached, raw? How do you like yours done?

I'm especially partial to "over easy" provided the whites are cooked all the way but the yolk is really runny. Sadly, I never learned to make them right so I have to get someone else to cook them for me.

Now I'm hungry. I guess I'll go make myself some breakfast - maybe a nice spinach and mushroom omelet.

Over easy is fine with me. With some fried bread ... Ah nuts! I'm hungry again. Can we stop talking about food.

Mmmm, food.

There's a greasy spoon along the road from us. Sunday morning - guess where I'll be.

I'm very partial to a bacon and egg roll, but the white has to be firm and the yolk runny, but not too much grease.

You could bribe Mrs A to do anything (and I have) with an offer of smoked salmon and scrambled egg on bagels.

Hungry.......

Every Sunday finds us at a local Chinese restaurant that serves Dim Sum. I love getting little bites of this and that, dozens and dozens of offerings to choose from, brought table side by women (and a few men) who barely speak English. They lift a lid and show me the contents, I nod yes or shake my head no, then they're off to the next table while another cart carrying goodies rolls up the aisle. Mmmmmm

I like my eggs scrambled, a little milk, and a hell of a lot of cheese, and I'm right at home. Ohhh SHIT MrsMo I Love Chinese, we got this place called Oceans here it's the BEST, I personally like the Generals Chicken ( I like it SPICY ) over a bed of fried rice, four egg rolls, served with a nice glass of homemade lemonade with a triple shot of tangerine gin in their, we call those BULLFROGS where I'm from ; ) Get your BULLFROG ON !!!

That bullfrog sounds delicious. I may have to stop at the store and pick some tangerine gin up to give it a try.

I've never been a big fan of General Tso's chicken, but that's why restaurants have menus. Everybody gets to pick what they like best.

Reminding me... did your mom ever growl at you that she's "...not running a restaurant. THIS is what I made for dinner and you can either eat it or go hungry!" I hated it when my mom did that, swore I would NEVER say that to my kids, but found myself growling it at Pixie when she was growing up.

There was a little little sign in my Mom's kitchen that said " Never mess with the Chef or you might die Hungry " so I always ate what Mom cooked, except hominy can't stand it, I even ate what she called " shit on a shingle " two pieces of toast covered in white gravy with hamburger meat mixed in the gravy, she really never gave us choices when it came to dinner, it was either eat what she cooked or go hungry, but to be honest my Mom made some pretty kick ass meals.

Hey folks! Sorry for the absence, had my son with me and we were busy painting the town red...

Anyhow, as for eggs, I like'em nice and runny with some corned beef hash and hot sauce and mix it all up! Either that or scramble it up with some chorizo and cheese and throw it in a rolled tortilla and voila, pigs and chicks in a blanket...
