Dr Death himself has finally bought the farm, kicked the bucket, croaked. He died of natural causes, which leaves me feeling conflicted. I'm happy for him and his family that the causes leading to his death weren't overwhelmingly painful, so that there was no need to resort to assisted suicide. However; he caused so much conflict, thumbed his nose so thoroughly at the government and the medical community it would have been great to see him give them one last big "up yours!"
R.I.P. Dr. Death. Thank you for opening a discussion which, while it still isn't settled, has allowed people to think clearly about granting dignity and compassion to those whose passing is agonizing and protracted.
