I've put in a LOT of new stuff today.

A media gallery that links to everybody's PUBLiC albums
A game arcade
An experience system that awards points based on activity
A market place where you can go to buy all sorts of stuff

I'm tired now.

What do you think? Be honest!

I'd just like to say, I think the new site is starting to look amazing, the new experience system and market is brilliant! I think this has a good chance of bringing this place to life a little more, with the added bonus of awards and gold to people that post new stuff, quality idea!

The gallery looks good too, I'll add some content when I get around to it. Where is the arcade located at? I haven't seen that yet!

A quick idea to maybe improve things from my point of view, I noticed the selection box in the bottom left to choose a theme, do we have anyone willing to design a few themes for the site that have a range of looks from the clean minimalist look to the geeky black and green terminal look, complete with matching Daremo.org banners for the top of the page, maybe incorporating the market so people have the option to purchase new themes using 'gold' they have earned in the forums.

What do you all think?

Okay I've just seen the arcade, when I played Snake and got a Game Over though I got this error when it was trying to record the high score:

Daremo.org

Edit: Seems to do this with any game?

It seems there was a fatal bug in the arcade system --- I removed that package and all is well.

I'll try to find a replacement.

BTW -- Buying access to the Gambling area has a couple of low-tech games that will get you instant gold. Plus you can buy lottery tickets and enter the daily, weekly and Mega jackpots

Hehehe it's cool isn't it?
Though it's too bad how difficult it is to see what's new :(. I didn't even notice MrsMo's squirrel post until I noticed someone replied to it...

Well I installed a new Arcade.

This one was specifically written-from-the-ground-up for this forum software.
It appears to work fairly well. Give it a shot, there's some dandy little time-wasters in there.

The new Experience system performs on a timed basis. In order for those who get achievements and awards to enjoy them the system runs daily processes to update those. That way they don't switch from user-to-user too often. Also the awarding of some experience is delayed for up to an hour while other automated processes run.

To make a short statement you may not immediately see your experience reflected. But just hang on -- it'll get to ya.

I've got facebook, but I hate it :P. So I wouldn't use the option. Anybody else here has facebook for me to add though? ;)

OK - I got a FaceBook AppID and D.org is FaceBook aware. Click the "f Connect" button on the top right of the page to connect your two accounts; then you can officially "like" our threads.

Who knows, this may get us some new blood. If you 'like' our content then your FaceBook buds will see references to the site and may join up.

OK - here we go again.....

I modified the "What's Happening" section of the CMS to show all activity - changed threads, new posts, new articles, new blogs, new comments to articles, new comments to blogs and new files. BTW - Should I move the "Front Page" down and make "What's Happening" the first screen, or should I leave the announcements as a first screen like it is today?

I also added a sidebar to the main Forum display showing newly changed threads. Let me know how that works out for ya.
