White is a bitch to keep clean , but look's really great when it is !
It's well setup for some awesome mods, which no doubt you will post pic's off.

Good luck and happy driving dude :-)

Nice one Rikku,
So that trip to Ireland is getting even closer..
Then, you Kits E Kat and myself can bring on the Dublin Wardrive.
Oh and I found a new beeeer to go with it.. Brain Blaster. it is 7% and goes so well with a burger in the Porter House.

I wonder if there is a product, perhaps an auto adjusting satellite dish, that will give you Broadband in the van. Or even an auto wireless network adaptation tool that will just set you up on most any available wireless network as you cruse. Mission impossible style. Discrete and fully loaded.

Ummm dreams.

No doubt duder you could fit a lot of "auditing" equipment in there :-)

Which GMW your car would be totally useless for , hell you could hardly open a laptop in that thing , useless :-)

As long as there's room for my pocket PC there's no issue ;) With 817bhp out of the box, who needs anything else :)

BTW, how did you get the thumbnail Rikku? I was expecting the same thing to happen when I posted that pic but it just showed up full size.

I would guess you used the image tags. Try the "manage attachements" button to upload the file from your disk.

Nice one Rikku :-)
White is a bitch to keep clean , but look's really great when it is !

I'll be spraying it and adding new skirts and bumper in the new year most likley :p

So far I have ripped out all the old ply-lining and given it a good clean out, ripped out the bulkhead (partition wall between cab and back) and put in a new ply floor with 2 layers of laminate flooring insulation...next job is to break out the MDF and build in the sofa/bed and speaker and monitor boxes...so far so good...

Just so long as you don't put them silly blue light's under the chassis, or them silly kitt light's on the bonnet, or them totally mad hub caps that revolve, jesus, so silly it's not funny.
Keep it "tastefull" dude :-)

Rikku

Aiming for something like this...but without the side window...or the large alloys...I did consider red underglow neons but maybe not...and the other random LED lights are a bit crap...this van is mainly going to be about the inside...a killer audio system hooked up to a central computer so i can control it all off the dash with a touchpanel screen...so I can play all my MP3's, use GPS, wardrive, or whatever the hell I want really!...Well that's the plan!

If I was going to get a car......
Skoda. Yup. Skoda. Keep it looking as simple as possible on the outside. No one would want to touch it... perhaps good tires but that’s about it.. On the inside however.. well loads of kit... lol .. and as for the suspension and engine!!

I head about a Lada that was set up like that.. It looked so plain on the outside but it could take anything with its V8 or whatever was in it. And of course he had it done up on the inside to be very comfortable.
Ahh dreams. Cars in the US are so cheep compared to here.. lucky ducks. Even the UK is better priced than us in Ireland. And the UK in not cheep.

Well today I started building up the sofa...got some good ideas for a kinda pull out bed and plans for my extreme bass bin that is built in to the sofa base!

I also suffered a minor injury today whilst screwing a bit of wood to the van wall...it kinda spun round a smacked me right in the eyebrow...later i realised it was bleeding all over the place...so yeah that was fun :p

I am well into this Rikku , your gonna have to start taking some picks for us all to see :-)
I am starting to think that I should really build a Mac Mini into my truck :-)
I don't need it, would hardly use it , but that ain't the point is it !

That's about the only mod I can do :-(

Rikku
19th December 2005, 01:00
I was considering the mac mini but I wasnt too sure about using my GPS reciever with it...and I'd need a better player than iTunes! I think I'll just build a small xp media centre edition based machine...and fit it under the drivers seat!

Have a look at this (http://www.mini-itx.com) site to give you some ideas. Hell, you could abandon Windoze altogether and run MediaCar (http://users.skynet.be/media-car/software.html) or something similar like Geexbox (http://geexbox.org/).

Also, KarPC (http://www.karpc.com) have some ready made solutions (of course at a premium).

Rikku
20th December 2005, 13:00
Yeah Ive seen some of these...it works out cheapest to builld my own...I have plenty of room so nano boards arnt so important really...but im probably going for the KarPc 7" in dash monitor...

It would be useless Rikku, the antenna's would keep hitting off the roof of the cave, WiFi signals would be crap anyway :-)

Anyway's Datsun changed their name to Nissan about 20 year's or so ago!
I ain't seen a Datsun for year's around these parts.
I ain't even heard the word "Datsun" in years, we are talking claped out shit here dude :-)

Rikku
27th December 2005, 14:49
Yea, but I guess things are so low-tech in caves these days...there's no suprise they have never heard of nissan...mind, I was confused as to why Vauxhalls are called Opel in Ireland...but it turns out its just us brits that call them Vauxhall...weird

Kitz E Kat
28th December 2005, 09:31
Yeah you guy's are on your own calling an Opel a Vauxhall, I did once own a Vauxhall van, it was the worst heap of junk I ever had the misfourtune to own :-(

TreeFrog
29th December 2005, 10:45
That Opel / Vauxhall thing is because the German Opel company did not think it wise to try and market the the Opel brand in England. They made the trucks and other vehicles for the Nazi regime in the second world war.

I cant believe Ed has a Datsun Van, unless he is already in Cuba!

Radical Ed... What model is it?

Didn't see the Van yet but I got to meet Rikku.

Met up for my lunch and had pub grub with a pint.
seems he is going to have a hard time connecting to the net when he moves to the place in Ireland..
We will just have to sort out a wireless connection from Dublin all the way to his house in the sticks.
:-)

Rikku
30th December 2005, 12:35
A momentous occasion indeed :p best pint of Guinness Ive had in a long time aswell! Thanks for that dude! (and that barmaid was well tasty...if not a little ditsy...I mean trying to serve us the same lunch twice...but yea, she was cute...)

Soon as I get the van all rigged out with wardriving gear I'll bring it out to Dublin anyway, for sure...and if anyone has any good ideas of gadgets etc. to add to the van then fire away...I want it as high-tech as possible :D

Rikku
2nd April 2006, 15:05
Black fur celing! Oh yeah...I also added a CB radio (just want to fill it with tech) seating in the back is done, just today i got all the foam padding for it and I got a great loada woodland camo material to do it all in...just gotta add more fur on the walls and sliding doors and carpet the floor and Im ready for more tech! Oh my friend suggested that I change the sliding doors to eagle wing doors...haha

As for the outside...Ive chosen some new wheels... http://www.rochfordtyres.co.uk/uploads/images_products_large/887.jpg
after that I'll get the bodykit, remove stupid trims and fill it out and spray the whole van black...

But as for wardriving gear so far I'm just running a laptop with a standard US robotics WiFi card and a gps reciever :) I'll fit a carputer one day...

Kitz E Kat
2nd April 2006, 15:26
Holy shit !
Dude that's gonna be awesome :-)
Well tasty van.
What's the sus on the eagle wing door's ? Expensive I would think, but so totally cool , it could be worth it !

Nice work :-)

Hey , why not add a lift kit :-) http://www.tsliftkits.com/

One of these day's my Ranger is goin to get one! Unless I am thinking of importing an F150 fully loaded, expensive, it wont fit in the driveway, or on most road's here, but hey, who give's a fuck it's sooooo coool :-)
