That's right, it's over. I know it's over because I finally got all my decorations taken down and put away. Other years Christmas has been over much earlier but there were a few events that interfered with the cleanup (I'm looking at YOU Pixie; having a kid two months early).

So, anyone else out there still celebrating the season? Did anyone else decorate beyond putting up a tree? Did you put up a tree? Am I all alone on this?

I hear ya about being a tad busy this year! I always take decorations down on the 6th, Little Christmas or Women's Christmas, but some think it should be on the 7th. Who knows :-)
Hope you all had a good one!

I've never heard of "Little Christmas or Women's Christmas." What is the story behind it? I've heard of the Epiphany, which is when the 3 wise men arrived at the manger to deliver their gifts, but darned if I can remember what date that's supposed to be.

The Epiphany is on the same day, it's better known as Little Christmas or a lot of people call it Women's Christmas around these parts.
The women take the day off and the men do all the work, as some sort of payback for all the hard work the women did for Christmas.
For priests and nuns it's as big a day as Christmas day and they would normally have another Christmas dinner on that day.
So put it in your diary for next year and fill D in on the tradition :-)

Thanks Kitz. As for D taking over household chores for a day - I just don't see that happening. He would happily take me out to dinner though; he's always happy to take me out to dinner. He SAYS he likes my cooking but sometimes I wonder...
