Ok on the news today they were talking about plans for the new Live Aid again...there was a thing about some people complaining as there were only 2 black artists playing...now I'm pissed off, what a load of bullshit, if I had it my way there be no blacks playing! I'm sick of all the stupid racial equality shit! they get their own damned music awards, the MOBOs (Music Of Black Origin) imagine the chaos if there was a MOWO award! They want racial equality but all their getting is special attention, they've even got their own radio station here, purely for music by black artists, what about a station for purely for white artists? Where's the equality in that!?!

Well the first Live Aid quite obviously did'nt bring an end to world provety ( it's intention) , will the second one ? NO ......

You will get a collection of crappy *artists* will turn up and play some shit get a good "we helped out" vibe goin on , may increase their flagging CD sales in the process , awesome !

If Sir Bob and his merry friends were to dip into their rather large bank accounts and hand over some money they would raise the same amount pretty easy , but no.
They don't give no money , we give the money out of our little pay packets and they get all the glory , is that a bit fucked up or what ?

Anyway , you wan't a solution to world poverty , i'll give ya one !

Could the people in the affected countries , not just rise up agaist the government and overthrow it? It's called a *revolution* we all done it here in the west , load's of times, works pretty good too !

What's the problem ?

The *starving* people in these countries seem happy to starve , while their government live in complete luxury ?
But we are supposed to help out the starving people , can not one of them say " hold the fuck on here for a second , the government are living in luxury , we're starving, let's have a good old fashioned revolution"........

Sorry if i sound a bit *right wing* , im not , but really these people seem to do nothin about their own plight , just sit there and wait ...

In most of these countries they have ,oil, gold, diamonds , etc.
In Ireland we have nothing like that , we ain't all starving , if we had oil , gold and diamonds , we would all be living in the lap of luxury , what gives ?

How come people in resource rich countries are all starving and i ain't ?
Should we be sending over "how to have a revolution" book instead of food , are these people just thick or what ?

I think "Ivory" would be a great magazine name where we can celebrate being white. How about "W.E.T." to counter B.E.T.? Why does it matter how many blacks or Chinese or damn dinosaurs are at a concert performing? I, however, see a much larger problem here other than the "equality" thing.

Pop culture tells us that it's better for a black guy to be with a white girl. Many of you may think I'm being extreme, but I don't believe I am. If someone who is "oppressed" does something mediocre it's celebrated as being great, but those who are truly great and not part of the "oppressed" club get the brush off. Just my opinion.

Quite right. Extremism only leads to problems. I believe that there are communities on all sides of the racial spectrum that are extremists and become supremacists. One of the biggest problems that I've encountered is that many people believe that racism is only something that "white people" do. I actually had a female, who I'd believed to be rather smart, in essence, say exactly that.

I just heard today the Sir Bob , had made inquires about becoming the president of Ireland a few months ago.
The then president had yet to decide it she was goin to remain on for a second term , she did.

He was told in a meeting that he was not "suited" to the job :-)
I would love to have been there for that , i bet he told them to go fuck off !!!

It did'nt work for Tim McVae cos he did'nt have a cause with which the vast majority of the US population agree with, to the point that they would want to join him.

However in these so called "poor" countries , the vast majority of the population would agree that there is a problem.

So where is the revolution?

Am i being stupid here in expecting that people should revolt against an oppressive regime or is that old fashioned ?
Kinda worked in Poland, East Germany, etc, etc , and these people were not really starving, just starving for freedom.

Dunno , just seems a bit mad to see your family wiped out by hunger and do nothing about it..........

I think a big part of the problem in the poorest countries is that the people with all the money are also the people with all the guns. Of course, that's also one of the problems with foreign aid to one of these countries. The money and help almost never reaches the people who are starving. The people in charge skim huge amounts for themselves and their friends, leaving nothing for the people the aid was intended for. Just as unfortunately, in countries where the oppressed did successfully revolt, they soon turned around and did the same thing to the original group.

Indeed , the same thing applied to Poland and East Germany , the people still managed to revolt.
The "forgive the debt" thing is about the worst thing you could do , Uganda was forgiven it's debt, it's now twice what it was when it was forgiven in the first place and it's getting worse.
This is a country that on a day exported food , now they are starving .....
